How Distribution Works
Mobile-PopUps and Community Distribution
Food is distributed through Mobile-PopUp events and coordinated community distribution locations operating across Orange County.
These events are designed to reduce barriers by bringing food directly into neighborhoods, public spaces, housing environments, and accessible community locations.
The Tree of New America coordinates this activity alongside trusted community organizations, housing providers, logistics partners, and local support networks.
The Community Food Support Coalition (OC)
A Coordinated Community Food Network
Food distribution activity across Orange County is supported through the Community Food Support Coalition (OC)—a coordinated network operating within the Tree of New America Sustainability Ecosystem™ Platform.
The coalition brings together nonprofit organizations, food recovery operations, logistics support, and community distribution systems to help expand access to nutritious food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
With support from aligned partners including the Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, food recovery, preparation, logistics, and delivery activity are coordinated across participating organizations.
This structure helps reduce barriers to access while supporting reliable, dignified, and consistent food distribution across communities.
